Corel Asia-Pacific Digital Art Competition 2010

Corel Corporation, a leading developer of graphics, productivity and digital media software, announced the Corel Asia-Pacific Digital Art Competition 2010. Running through August 31, 2010, Corel Asia Pacific Digital Art Competition is one of the largest in Asia with over 150 prizes totaling over $40,000 USD with a Grand Prize valued at over US$10,000 it is also one of the richest.


The competition includes Open and Student categories and is open to entrants from Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Entries may be static images or videos and must be produced using Corel software, contest submissions will be posted on the Corel website during the period of the competition, where visitors will help determine the winners by voting. Winners will be chosen based on popular vote and opinions from a distinguished panel of judges and will be announced on October 15, 2010.

"Our goal in organizing this competition is to encourage both up-and-coming and established designers and to celebrate the tremendous depth of talent found across the Asia-Pacific region," said Juliet Kuo, Senior Director of Global Marketing at Corel.

There are two entry Categories: Open and Student. Entries must be produced with Corel software and may be static works of art or videos that promote a concept. The competition runs from April 22, 2010 to August 31, 2010 and is open to entrants from the Asia Pacific region.

Visitors to the competition Website can win prizes by voting for their favourite entries, forwarding information to their friends and by creating links to the competition on Websites and blogs. A competition Facebook page enables entrants to share information and promote their entries.

The Corel Asia-Pacific Digital Art Competition 2010 is supported by leading brands including Kingston, Wacom, Reallusion and Trend Micro.
